The 4-H Afterschool program at Cochrane-Fountain City School has partnered with Merrick State Park for many years during the month of October. Students in the program have the opportunity to work one-on-one with Park staff and volunteers to carve pumpkins for the night hike taking place on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A goal of the program is engage students in the outdoors and help them make connections between themselves and nature. 31 student pumpkins will be featured on the not so spooky trail hike so come out and vote for your favorite!
