Best for beginner painters

Learn how to create a cute pink (the photo is discolored) character bunny with a teal background just in time to celebrate the arrival of spring! Painters will practice technique and mixing acrylic paints.

Sunday, March 14 at 6:00 PM Bonfire

Best for intermediate painters

Learn how to create depth in an acrylic painting with a background and foreground. This painting will get you thinking about getting outdoors this spring and summer!

Each 4-H Paint Party will be about 60 to 90 minutes in length.

At the virtual 4-H Paint Party, you’ll paint the design above with how-to instructions from the 4-H educators. You’ll also be able to interact and hear from other youth and adults from around Buffalo County!

The 4-H Paint Party is FREE! 

If you’d like to get your own supplies or already have them at home there is no cost to participate! (See the list of supplies below.)

If you would like the supplies for the 4-H Paint Party, there is a cost.

  • One paint party $10
  • Both paint parties $15

You would be responsible for picking up your materials the week of March 7 in Mondovi, Alma or C-FC.

After you register you will receive the link to the Zoom.

Register by February 26 to request supplies and get the 4-H art apron. Register until March 12 if you plan to get your own supplies.

Supplies needed:

BUNNY
  • 1/2″ flat brush
  • 1/4″ flat brush (optional)
  • round, detail brush
  • easel (optional, but preferred)
  • canvas (framed or panel), 8″x10″
  • palette (optional, but preferred for mixing paints – a waxed paper plate works, too)
  • water
  • baby wipes or wet paper towel
  • drop cloth
  • paint apron or smock (old clothes work, too)
  • acrylic paint colors: light blue/teal, dark blue/teal, light pink, black, white
BONFIRE
  • 1/2″ flat brush
  • 1/4″ flat brush (optional)
  • round, detail brush
  • easel (optional, but preferred)
  • canvas (framed or panel), 11″x17″
  • palette (optional, but preferred for mixing paints – a waxed paper plate works, too)
  • water
  • baby wipes or wet paper towel
  • drop cloth
  • paint apron or smock (old clothes work, too)
  • acrylic paint colors: black, white, pale blue, violet/purple, red, orange, yellow

All supplies can be found at Wal-Mart or the Dollar Tree. Any local craft store would also have the supplies needed.

If you choose to have 4-H get the supplies for you, you will receive all three brushes, all needed acrylic paint colors, tabletop easel, canvas, palette, drop cloth and a 4-H art apron.
