The Progressive Agriculture Safety Day was conducted on June 23 at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds in Mondovi. Over 400 students in grades K-8 participated in the educational event from Alma, Gilmanton, Cochrane-Fountain City, Mondovi and other area school districts. Students learned from local experts about safe practices in stopping the bleed first aid, electricity, ATVs, animals, campfires, healthy coping skills, farm equipment, and chemicals.
Saturday, July 9th, Buffalo County 4-H Horse project members volunteered as balloon runners at the Wisconsin State Mounted Justice Shooting Competition at Double H Arena in Mondovi, WI. 4-H families that participated included Kari, Emma and Quin Sandberg, Kristin, Ava, Bradlee & Keith Goetting, Samantha Hansen, and Matt & Avery Bambenek. Youth and adults had to fill five red and five blue balloons for each rider in the time events, which was every 20-60 seconds!
