April Buffalo County 4-H Project Challenge

Get your GREEN thumbs ready for this 4-H project challenge.  Buffalo County 4-H invites all 4-H youth and their families to explore Plant Science & Soil Science, along with Flowers and Houseplants.

For the month of April, youth can pick from multiple different categories to develop the understanding of plant & soil health.  4-H members can submit up to three entries in each category, but please make separate submissions for each category.

  • Plant Science & Horticulture-Show us that you know how to properly care for a plant species.  Try planting some bulbs or vegetable seeds inside in order to get ready for the spring weather.

  • Soil/Crop Science- Illustrating that you understand the importance of planting crops to feed many different animals, try getting involved by helping plant this years crops, or getting the soil the proper nutrients to grow a good crop.

  • Flowers- Start by picking out your favorite annual or perennial flower seeds that you can plant indoors, to get a good start on their growth. Show your understanding by explaining your process for growing flowers this season!

  • Houseplants- Do you have a favorite houseplant currently or want to add some to your house? Show off your favorite one, and tell us how you care for your plant to keep it thriving.

To participate, just simply submit a photo of you and your finished 4-H entry, along with other required information via our Google Form (https://forms.gle/EPvgWsqX3t7SHShPA) by April 30, 2021.  For other video submissions you can request access for uploading from Annie Lisowski or Paige DeWitt to help with uploading.  We will be sharing photos on our web page and social media as they are submitted.

There will likely be gift cards awarded to those who are challenge winners!

To be announced the May Photo Challenge theme.  More information will be available soon.
