Halper returns for another summer of learning

Please help us welcome back Jacob Halper to the 2020 Buffalo County 4-H Youth Development Summer Intern position. Jacob has been with the Division of Extension since June 2019 in multiple roles supporting both Buffalo County 4-H and the Cochrane-Fountain City 4-H Afterschool program. While Jacob will not be working to implement STEAM Discovery Days and Cloverbud Days in 2020, he will be engaging with young people virtually through multiple virtual programs including 4-H Camp Kinnissippwa in a Bag and STEAM @ Home. Halper will be working remotely through most the summer, but is eager to see and hear from many you again – reach out to him via email at halper2@wisc.edu.

Hello, my name is Jacob Halper and I am originally from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. I came to Minnesota 4 years ago to attend Saint Mary’s University of Winona for my Theology, Philosophy, and History degrees. I am going into my fifth and final year, and I am currently preparing to attend graduate school the following year. One thing I enjoy most is learning, I love reading and learning through experience. I also love video games, fishing, the outdoors, and serving others. All of my interests revolve around learning in some way!

I am excited to participate as the 4-H Youth Development Intern for the second summer in a row, I feel I learned a lot last year so I can do an even better job this year! Although this summer is unique and challenging for so many of us, my goals for this summer remain the same. I want to reach out to the youth and their families and foster growth and learning. I am hoping to work on STEAM activities and lessons, along with plenty of other summer activities! Choosing to work in Buffalo County and 4-H has been and amazing experience so far, and that’s why I chose to come back for this summer as well.
