Influenza A Testing Required

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection
(DATCP) is requiring Influenza A testing prior to movement of lactating dairy cattle to fairs or exhibitions effective beginning June 19, 2024.

In order to move lactating dairy cattle to fairs or exhibitions within the state, producers must receive a
negative test for Influenza A virus at an approved National Animal Health Laboratory Network
(NAHLN) laboratory with samples collected no more than 7 days prior to movement to the fair or
exhibition.

For bio-security reasons, dairy animals must be vet checked prior to unloading at the Fair. More information as it relates to the Buffalo County Fair in affiliation with Pepin County, will be available in the coming days. Continue to watch for updates.
