Students at the Mondovi Community Youth Center after school program engaged in the National 4-H STEM Challenge on October 26, 2022. 4-H members at MCYC enjoyed transforming themselves into scientists — recording data and testing their ocean robot gliders. Students used scales to weigh the density of their glider and worked to ballast it in the test tank. They used math to find the correct mass of their glider. High school students, Program Coordinator Wendy Kleinschmidt, and 4-H Youth Development Educator Annie Lisowski, guided youth as they worked to ascend and descend their ocean robots while practicing science inquiry and critical thinking.
