Julia Moats makes serving others an integral part of her 4-H experience. As a 9th grader in the Hilltop Climbers 4-H Club Julia has committed herself to learning about community needs and carrying out acts of intentional Kindness as part of the 2020 4-H Countywide Service Learning Project. Julia identified a local partner to help her be generous. She saved up dollars from her own allowance to purchase five $20 gift cards from the local grocery store. She then put together kindness bags full of full of personal care products and donated them to the Mondovi Food Pantry. Moats said of her service-learning this summer, “I just wanted to help others and give back to the community during these uncertain times.” As part of her experience, Moats learned more about individuals and systems as assets in her local community.
