Teen Court panelists are peer judges that meet with first time youth offenders and decide a consequence in an aim to change their negative behavior. Teen Court panelists continue to conduct hearings during the summer months. On Wednesday, June 5, six panelists trained in April participated in their first case. Experienced panelist, Breleigh Bauer, served as the Spokesperson, or lead judge, for the hearing. Buffalo/Pepin County Teen Court uses a restorative justice approach with youth ages 10-16 referred to the program by law enforcement, the juvenile court judge or school administration.
