The Cheerful Workers 4-H gathered on Saturday morning, August 23, at the Lyster Parish Hall—our usual meeting spot.
The Perennial Garden in front of the hall was in need of some care, so we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. Our weather-worn Little Library and an old bench were removed, and we tackled the overgrowth by pulling weeds and groundcover.
We planted over a dozen new perennials and relocated several existing plants to better spots. Fresh mulch was laid down, giving the entire garden a refreshed and vibrant look!
In just two hours, about a dozen volunteers completed the work. We wrapped up the morning with a light lunch and left feeling proud of a job well done.
