2024 Teen Court Senior Scholarship Recipients are Danzinger and Wayne

Zoey Danzinger and Isabella Wayne are the 2024 Buffalo/Pepin County Teen Court Scholarship recipients. The $500 and $250 scholarships will be presented in May at their school graduation awards ceremonies on behalf of the Buffalo/Pepin County Teen Court program. The award winners were selected from multiple applicants by a group of Teen Court Advisory Board members based on their teen court participation, application and essay questions.

Zoey Danzinger, the recipient of the $500 scholarship, is a three-year member of the Buffalo/Pepin County Teen Court Program from Alma Area High School. During her time on the panel, Zoey led several hearings, conducted new panel member interviews, participated in two mock hearings at 8th grade days, and mentored incoming teen court panel members at their training. Danzinger says that the teen court program has given her much confidence to speak with youth and families with differing cultural backgrounds. She is the daughter of Todd and Sarah Danzinger and plans to major in Biology at Hamline University in the fall.

Isabella Wayne, the recipient of the $250 scholarship, is a three-year member of the Buffalo/Pepin County Teen Court program from the Durand-Arkansaw High School. She has engaged in many hearings and has coached incoming panel members. Isabella wrote that the one of the most impactful parts of teen court for her is “helping families build their relationships – every family is different and sometimes they don’t realize the impact they have on their kids until they attend teen court with them.” Isabella Wayne is the daughter of Marty and Chelsa Wayne. She plans to attend Chippewa Valley Technical College to pursue a career in Medical Diagnostic Sonography.

The 2024 scholarships were supported in part by contributions from many generous contributors from across Buffalo and Pepin Counties.
