2024 Wisconsin 4-H Key Award Recipient – Miriam Sandberg

Miriam Sandberg, daughter of Andy and Jennifer Sandberg, was selected as Buffalo County’s Wisconsin 4-H Key Award winner for 2025. The prestigious Key Award, one of the highest awards a 4-H member can receive, honors only a select group of 4-H participants across the state annually. The youth receiving this award are ones who have demonstrated consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in the functions of their 4-H club and their community.

Miriam Sandberg is a member of the Lucky 16 4-H club and will graduate in May from Mondovi High School. She was selected for a Key Award for her outstanding accomplishments in leadership and service on the 4-H club and county level. She has served as an officer and youth chair of the Buffalo County 4-H Leader’s Association. Miriam has been active in Buffalo/Pepin County Teen Court and is on the Advisory Board. Sandberg has traveled as a part of national 4-H experiences and shared her learning with others.

Annie Lisowski, 4-H Youth Development Educator, on behalf of the Buffalo County 4-H Leaders Association, presented Miriam Sandberg with her award on January 19, 2025, at the Buffalo County 4-H Leaders Association meeting.

Key Award recipients are high school students with at least three years of experience in 4-H and one year as a youth leader. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau and Rural Mutual Insurance Company sponsor the Wisconsin Key Award program. They have sponsored these awards for over 30 years, helping 4-H to honor some of Wisconsin’s finest youth.
