Premise Identification Registration
Premises registration is mandatory in Wisconsin, regardless of how many animals you own or how they are used. Livestock premises registration involves recording any location where livestock are kept or congregate. Once registered, the location receives a unique identification number. The goal of this system is to enable the quick tracing of livestock movements within 48 hours in the event of an animal disease outbreak. This helps identify the origin of an infection and determine which animals have been exposed.
Livestock requiring a premise identification number prior to registering animals for the Fair: Beef, Dairy, Sheep, Swine, Horse, Poultry, and Goats.
