Families and Justice Systems

The Literacy Link Project:

Many families are affected by Justice-System involvement. This page contains resources about Children with Justice-Involved Parents, Parent and Caregiver Resources, The Buffalo-Pepin MOVING FORWARD REENTRY Program and The Literacy Link Project

The Literacy Link brings evidence-informed literacy and learning opportunities to young children with parents or caregivers involved in local correctional systems. We partner with jails criminal justice organizations, libraries, and others to:

  • foster healthy family relationships by promoting positive, literacy-focused interactions between children and their parents who are involved with the legal system
  • promote language and literacy skills in children by creating literacy rich experiences in hail and other settings that extend into the home.
