Restorative questioning is an important part of Teen Court

Buffalo/Pepin County Teen Court panel members Caitlyn Stadler (Mondovi), Miriam Sandberg (Mondovi), and Alyson Turner (Gilmanton) listened to a truancy violation on Valentine’s Day. The youth asked restorative questions, helped the young person and their family reflect on the situation, and provided requirements to help repair relationships and reduce harm. Teen court is a youth-led alternative to the juvenile justice system that hears referrals from schools, law enforcement, human services, and the judge.
